The Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

What does your morning routine look like? Do you drink water first thing in the morning? How about warm lemon water? Is your coffee the first thing you have? Let’s talk about all of these options and what they do (or don’t do for your body).

Drinking 8oz of water in the morning is a great way to rehydrate your body after sleeping, and a nice way to get things moving (aka poop!). Your liver should work optimally overnight (around 2-3am) to clear out waste, flush toxins, and excess hormones out of your body. This means that if you have a healthy digestive system, you should have your first bowl movement about 30min after you wake up. Drinking water first thing in the morning, will assist with this. If you don’t have a bowel movement for a few hours after waking (or none throughout the day) then you’re constipated. I will give you some solutions for constipation later on in this post.

Drinking warm water is usually faster for the body to absorb than cold water. Adding lemon, can help give your liver some extra micronutrients to aide in getting things moving if constipated. Also, lemon is great for boosting your immune system by adding Vitamin C, and it also helps to boost your metabolism and burn fat.

Drinking coffee first thing in the morning is not your best bet. If you have to drink coffee to get things moving, then you’re probably constipated. Also, coffee on an empty stomach can lead to hormone imbalances, IBS, poor gut health, and trouble with using the restroom throughout the day. It is best to consume coffee after you’ve had a glass of water and breakfast. Even if you’re “not a breakfast person,” consuming something light like an apple or hard boiled egg, can help to coat your stomach before coffee.

The number one thing that I recommend that you drink before breakfast AND coffee, is my '“Go Juice.” One of the key ingredients in my Go Juice is Apple Cider Vinegar. Apple Cider Vinegar has many benefits. It supports a healthy immune system⁣, helps maintain normal glucose levels⁣, and contains prebiotics to support a healthy gut.⁣ ⁣ I’ve been adding 1 tbsp of Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar to my daily “Go Juice” for a few months now and have seen dramatic improvements in my gut health. I’ve also been giving my Go Juice with Bragg’s ACV to my parents for a few months now, and they also have noticed better gut health 🤗! My father has also noticed a reduction in other symptoms related to pre-diabetes ⁣ I like Bragg’s brand of ACV because it contains the naturally occurring, health supporting strands of "The Mother" from USDA Organic certified apples. ⁣

Combine all of the ingredients in a cup or blend in a blender/food processor. Fill the remainder of your tea cup with hot water. Stir and enjoy ⁣.

We already talked about the benefits of Lemon and ACV, but what about turmeric and ginger? Turmeric is helpful for reducing inflammation in the body. Ginger is helpful for soothing the stomach, promoting better gut health, and it’s a root vegetable that can help women clear excess estrogen and reduce PMS symptoms. Now that you know about all of the benefits of Go Juice, will you add it to your morning routine? Comment with your thoughts below and share this recipe with your friends!
