Easy to Make Cajun Salmon

Are you looking for a super easy and quick way to prepare salmon? Well I’ve got you covered. All you need is salmon, Cajun seasoning, a Lemon, Olive Oil, and the vegetable of your choice. I like Asparagus because it’s a natural diuretic which aids and looking leaner if you have a special event coming up. This recipe is a quick overview for those of you who already cook and have the basics down. Things such as seasoning to taste and eyeballing when your food looks done.

Ingredients:

1 Salmon Filet

1/2 a bundle of Asparagus

1/2 Lemon

1 tbsp of Olive Oil (Temecula Oil Company “Just Dip It” is what I used)

Seasonings:

-Slap Ya Mama Creole Seasoning (any creole seasoning works)

-Cayenne Pepper (optional)

-Garlic Salt or Sea Salt

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 420 degrees.

Line a casserole dish with foil. Rinse off your salmon and asparagus and place them side by side in the casserole dish. The salmon should be skin side down and make sure that the asparagus stalks are spread evenly and not on top of each other. Next, squeeze the half a lemon all over the salmon and asparagus. The lemon helps to reduce the “fishy” flavor of the salmln and also helps to break down the asparagus so that it doesn’t taste as fibrous.

Next, cover the salmon with Creole seasoning. Just enough to cover the entire surface lightly. You can also lightly sprinkle the Creole seasoning over the asparagus.Then sprinkle a dash of cayenne pepper over the salmon and asparagus if you’d like a kick of heat. Drizzle the olive oil over the asparagus and season the asparagus with the salt. Toss the asparagus around to cover each stalk with olive oil and seasonings.

Place the casserole dish in the oven for 20 minutes. Check at the 15 minute mark just in case your salmon cooks a bit quicker. The asparagus should be slightly limp and turning slightly light green. Your salmon should be flaky and a lighter shade of pink then when you first put it in the oven. Careful not to over cook your salmon because you’ll dry it out.
